The program started education in the 1989-1990 academic year. It continues to train successful Medical Imaging (Radiology) Technicians from this year to the present. The aim of the Medical Imaging Techniques program is to train qualified health personnel who perform the radiology services necessary for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

 

Program Profile:

• Basic Health Lessons and Radiological Anatomy

• Medical Imaging Theory and Practice

• Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine

• Radiation Safety and Radiation Protection

 

Training Application Areas and Program Opportunities:

All Medical Imaging Techniques in Ege University Medical Faculty Hospital Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Departments Medical Imaging Centers; Radiography, Radioscopy, CT, MRI, MMG, Angio, USG, Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine Imaging techniques can be demonstrated theoretically and practically. Support is received from Faculty of Medicine, Department of Radiodiagnostics, Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Faculty Members and Staff for program-specific vocational courses.

 

Employment Profiles of Graduates:

Graduates also work in other relevant Medical Imaging units, especially in the Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine departments of all public and private hospitals.

 

Transition to Higher Degree Programs:

According to the vertical transfer regulation, vertical transfer to the Nursing undergraduate program can be made.

 

 

 

Information for Prospective Students

a. Conditions for the optional foreign language preparatory class:

   There is no optional foreign language preparatory class application.

 

b. Conditions regarding internship, education model (how many semesters are applied in a year, practical training in sectors and enterprises, etc.), industry-based education internship, how practical training is carried out and whether internships can be done outside the province where the relevant higher education institution is located:

   Students enrolled in the program are responsible for taking the practical training of the program-specific vocational courses at the Ege University Medical Faculty Hospital, starting from the first semester. In this program, students are required to do a 20-day summer internship in order to graduate.

 

c. Conditions regarding clothing and equipment materials required by the profession:

   Students who will enroll in the program have to wear the education clothes determined by the School. The supply of clothes belongs to the student.

 

d. Expenses of consumables, tools and equipment to be used in course applications, conditions regarding tuition expenses in return for exams, materials and education and training services:

    There are no consumables to be used in course applications.

 

e. The content of the program, the conditions of the campus/premises where the faculty, college and vocational school are located:

   Students will continue their education at Ege University Bornova Central Campus.

 

f. Conditions regarding the opportunity to work as a part-time student:

    Ege University Health, Culture and Sports Department makes a quota distribution plan by evaluating the needs of students who can work part-time in accordance with the budget possibilities of the units, and an announcement is made regarding the recruitment of students who will work part-time at the end of September or in the required periods, depending on the nature of the student and job to be taken in the units it deems appropriate.
