Anesthesia Program was established in 1990. The aim of the program is to train health personnel who will assist the specialist physician in the preoperative preparation of the patients, the application of anesthesia and reanimation, and the treatment of the patient in the reanimation clinic. Students graduate as 'Anesthesia Technician'.

Education Application Areas and Program Opportunities:

Program theoretical courses are given in the classrooms of the school, and practice and internships are held at Ege University Medical Faculty Hospital.

Employment Profiles of Graduates:

Graduates can work as Anesthesia Technicians in the operating rooms of public and private hospitals.

Transition to Higher Degree Programs:

According to the relevant legislation of YÖK, vertical transfer can be made to the Emergency Aid and Disaster Management undergraduate program and the Nursing undergraduate program.

Information for Prospective Students:

a. Conditions for the optional foreign language preparatory class:

There is no optional foreign language preparatory class application in the anesthesia program.

b. Conditions regarding internship, education model (how many semesters are applied in a year, practical training in sectors and enterprises, etc.), industry-based education internship, how practical training is carried out and whether internships can be performed outside the province where the relevant higher education institution is located:

In the anesthesia program, internship is done in all semesters. In order for students to graduate, they must complete a 20-working-day compulsory summer internship.

The theoretical courses of the program are given in the classrooms of the school, and practice and internships are held at Ege University Medical Faculty Hospital.

Summer internship applications can be made outside the province where the higher education institution is located.

c. Conditions regarding clothing and equipment materials required by the profession:

Uniforms, masks and bonnets must be used in the operating room. In addition, it is learned how to use some featured devices such as anesthesia device, respirator (ventilator), defibrillator, ECG Monitor, BIS Monitor in practice.

d. Cost of consumables, tools and equipment to be used in course applications, conditions regarding tuition expenses in return for exams, materials and education and training services:

There are no expenses for consumables, tools and equipment to be used in course applications, exams, materials and education services.

e. Information about the content of the program, the campus/premises where the faculty, college and vocational school are located:

Program content; It consists of Basic Health Courses, Anesthesia Device and Equipment, Anesthetic Pharmacology, Anesthesia Practice and Professional Practice, Clinical Anesthesia, Reanimation and System Diseases.

Anesthesia program is located in Ege University Atatürk Health Services Vocational School, Bornova campus.
