PHARMACY SERVICES

The Pharmacy Services Program was opened in the 2011-2012 academic year. It provides education as formal, secondary education and distance education. The aim of the program is to train intermediate staff who have the necessary knowledge and equipment, have gained professional skills, and are needed by the pharmacy and pharmaceutical industry.

Program Profile:

In addition to the Pharmacy Technician Branch courses, courses such as Basic Health and Science courses, Computer and Information Technologies in the Pharmacy, Health Economics, General Accounting, Professional Law, Professional Ethics, Public Health, Communication Skills are carried out theoretically and practically.

 

Education Application Areas and Program opportunities:

There is the opportunity to practice in Ege University Faculty of Pharmacy Practice Pharmacy. Students can perform their internships in pharmacies in the private sector.

 

Employment Profiles of Graduates:

Graduates of the program have the opportunity to work as "Pharmacy Services Technician" in public and private pharmacies and in various units of the pharmaceutical industry.

 

Transition to Higher Degree Programs:

Graduates of the program can switch to Biochemistry, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering departments according to the vertical transfer regulations.

 

 

 

Information for Prospective Students:

 

a. Conditions for the optional foreign language preparatory class:

 

We do not have an optional foreign language preparatory class.

b. Conditions regarding internship, education model (how many semesters are applied in a year, practical training in sectors and enterprises, etc.), industry-based education internship, how applied education is carried out and whether internships can be done outside the province where the relevant higher education institution is located:

It is an associate degree program in which two-year, four-semester education is given with both formal and secondary education. The courses are given theoretically.

Students can choose any hospital pharmacy or community pharmacy for their summer internship, but it is the student's responsibility to provide the preliminary application and institution communication regarding the internship place. The approval of the program advisor is required for the official process to start.

c. Conditions regarding clothing and equipment materials required by the profession:

Students wear white lab coats during their summer internships and pay attention to their dress code and hairstyle.

d. Expenses of consumables, tools and equipment to be used in course applications, conditions regarding tuition expenses in return for exams, materials and education and training services:

There are no applied courses during the semester.

e. The content of the program, the conditions of the campus/premises where the faculty, college and vocational school are located:

The content of the program, the contents of the campus/premises where the vocational school is located, are presented in detail on the websites of our University and Vocational School.

f. Conditions regarding the opportunity to work as a part-time student:

Part-time students can be employed in various units at the university.

Students who want to work freelance in the private sector should pay attention to the attendance requirements of the courses.
